The
Greek Deputy Minister of Health Katarina Papapkosta visited KEPEP
Lechainon on November 29. As a result of her visit she has concluded
that keeping disabled children in cages is OK - she says that is what
"Greek experts" told her. There was no mention about what
qualifications these experts.

Following
this visit BBC world radio aired an interview with Katarina Papakosta
and Steven Allen from the Mental Disability Advocacy Center on
December 18.
„The scientific community [...told me that] this type of beds are for their own protection.“
We agree with Steven Allen who said:
„Anyone that argues that placing a child in a cage is in their best interest is quite frankly on a different planet.“
