Who we are

This page has been created to act as one of the many outlets for the voices of the current and previous, international and local volunteers and supporters of the children in KEPEP.

We are sharing with you, amongst the small happy moments and rare sucess-experiences, the harsh everyday realities and injustices in the lives of the youngsters hosted in the centre, trying to find helping hands for bringing to life changes in their treatment and living conditions and to raise awareness of the subject of mental and physical health in general.

Most of us have been working as a volunteers (for the period of seven months or more) in KEPEP as part of the Youth In Acion programme European Voluntary Service, others have been visiting the centre for a shorter amount of time or heard about it from their friends and have been touched deeply by the stories of children there, in desperate need for help.

We have all agreed on the obvious conclusion that KEPEP in their activities and arrangements does not manage to promote the basic human rights that would ensure these youngsters with disabilities to live a worthy life in optimum conditions, develop their abilities and some amount of self care.

We are inviting you to think along with us by following our stories and points of views, speak along and try to find ways how we together could create the urgent changes that need to be executed to give these children and youngsters a human-worthy, benevolent and safe living environment that they deserve!
